RMVXP.com's Forum Rules
When posting in this forum, members are expected to understand and follow the rules and guidelines presented herein. This topic will be locked for the sake of cleanliness. If any member has any specific questions regarding any of these, feel free to send a Personal Message to myself or to any other administrator or moderator. Please note that these rules are subject to change at any time as we are aware that unexpected circumstances may arise. In these cases, the management and staff of RMVXP.com are free to act with discretion.
Unless otherwise specified, these set of rules
apply to all forums and sub-forums.
No Flaming: While we understand that criticism is based on points of view, the unnecessary attacking of another member's post or topic is not tolerated. It is true that members may ask for opinions on their work. But be polite, and fully explain your criticisms and/or concerns. Otherwise, it will not be tolerated and
may result in a warning or ban, depending on the severity.
No Trolling: Similar in nature but clearly worse than flaming, this is a deliberate attack on a member, his/her post and/or the forum in general. The sole purpose of trolling is to create chaos or drama whether it is between members of a community or to start wars between forums and is not tolerated. This will not be tolerated and
will result in a warning or ban, depending on the severity.
No Flame-Baiting: We ask our members to refrain from angering or antagonising their fellow members(s) to the point of starting an argument. These sort of actions will not be tolerated and
will result in a warn or a ban, depending on the severity.
No Rule-Lawyering: Please take these rules seriously and take them to heart. Don't try to exploit the way the rules were written or look for loopholes and argue your way around them. Just understand them and try to respect the spirit in which they were created.
No Bawwing: Making complaints about this community incessantly, often over issues which are viewed as inane or frivolous wastes of time, is viewed by this forum as Bawwing. It is considered a form of trolling to baw publicly about the actions of a staff member, whether the complaint concerns the member or not. Antagonising staff members because of their actions or duties (such as locked threads, warnings, etc.) that a member felt was unjust is a simple way to earn
yet another one. If you feel you've been unfairly singled out by a staff member or that the wrong call was made, handle it by sending a private message to an administrator or a moderator.
No Plagiarism: Plagiarism is a bannable offence. If we find that a member posts material that was created by another person and blatantly claims it as his/her own, this member
will be banned from the forum. Plagiarists should learn that people work hard on their craft, and stealing their material is just that... stealing. Likewise do not accuse others of plagiarism without sufficient evidence. Notify a moderator instead.
No Pornography: Clearly, we do not mean to restrict 'art' (Michelangelo's Statue of David, the Venus de Milo and etc.) just because of some samples of nudity. However, pictures of obscene gestures and/or graphic images of a decidedly adult and/or pornographic nature are not tolerated and
will result in an instant permanent ban.
No Illegal Content: We don't accept nor do we condone dialogue that promotes the creation, the use or trafficking of illegally distributed or translated software. Posting or distribution of Cracks, Hacks, No-CD Patches, CD Keys and/or illegally translated software
will result in an instant permanent ban.
No Impersonating: Impersonating other community members by creating and/or using an account with a name clearly intended to impersonate, mock, or antagonise another user, or otherwise falsely claiming to be another member, or hijacking a user's account
will result in an instant permanent ban.
No Spamming: Posts which consists of empty commentary, lack of content, irrelevant content and/or repetitive content are typically classified as SPAM. They typically do nothing but add noise to threads. Spamming is generally frowned upon in the community.
These will result in warns or bans, depending on the severity.
No Duplicate Accounts: Members are not to create any more than one account.
Any duplicate accounts will be banned and the user will be warned.
No Duplicate Topics: Please do not create more than one topic in the same forum or other areas of the forum to gain attention to a subject.
A warning will be given if posting duplicate topics was intentional, but accidental duplication of a topic or thread may occur, and we understand that. You may REPORT the accident to us beforehand so we can delete the duplicate thread for you,
otherwise the second thread will be deleted.
No Necroposting: Do not post in topics that haven't received a reply in more than 2 months unless you are the original poster of the topic or if a topic's original poster is currently active. (See FAQ for better explanation).
Violation of this rule will result in the user warned.
No Advertising: Do not create threads to call attention to your website or obsessively mention your game/website in every post you make.
Such actions will result in a warn. However, you may place an advertisement in your signature.
No Reposting Exiled Threads: Please refrain from posting topics in relationship to inappropriate topics which have been previously been locked and/or deleted. If you are unknowingly posting in this manner, you will be forewarned,
repetition of this behaviour will result in a warn.
English Usage: Based on the majority of our members being English users, we would simply like to request our non-English speaking members to use a translation service before posting content if their understanding of English isn't good enough. This is pretty much a rarity. The use of leetspeak is tolerated to a point, and non-english text may be permitted if shown in a predominantly-English post or translation post. Please try to use proper grammar and spell as best as you can so we can understand you.
No Backseat Moderating: Don't try to play moderator or make a public posting saying what they did. One, that's our job. Two, it makes you look like a brown-noser. If you see a problem, use the REPORT button and we'll take care of it.
No Password Sharing: Users are not to share accounts with other members.
The account owner will be responsible for any actions performed whether it be the account owner or the account sharer.
